buying local vs cheap

So recently I've been thinking. If buying local helps our economy, we should trying buying US made products if possible, but since, the wages are higher here, those products are usually more expensive. It's one of those situations were in the immediate now, you're only losing money relative to your peers so your incentized not too. Then like koo koo, some products are made out of the US and assembled in the US and marked made in the US. As an average American, wtf bro!?!? So if you haven't gotten the question from this, it's basically, how do you navigate spending your money in a way that would help the cause overall, and is it possible when you aren't already financially stable, since really, a lot of people aren't – thoughts peeps.
