Non-Compete clauses are a tool for employers to prevent employees like you and me from leaving a job for any reason in favor for a job in a similar industry, even for better pay, conditions, or responsibilities. The FTC estimates an impact of up to $300 Billion increase in wages for EVERYONE as a result of this rule. With non-compete clauses, employers have no incentive to make the workplace bearable after initial employment.
