Would anyone be willing to help me with a reference?(Software Engineer)
Hello! I am in the software engineering field and just got done dealing with a 3 year long court case. Was fired from software role in Summer 2020 when I initially got arrested for a mdma drug charge, found a new software job while waiting on the case, then was fired again in Fall 2022 because I was finally sentenced to 6 months and had to pretty much tell them I was leaving. Just got out but they can’t take me back due to hiring freeze.
Unfortunately due to the circumstances surrounding the 2 departures I don’t really have good references with those 2 companies but I really need 2-3 references for the software roles I am currently interviewing for.
Essentially I need someone that can say they were on my software team at either company(or potentially my manager), say I was a good developer and say I worked on the things that I worked on. They can verify my employment with HR at the 2 companies but I need co-workers for my 2-3.
This would be a HUGE help for me getting back to work and not allowing something like references to hold me back. I’ll only need them once I have pending offer and will tip you for the help!
