Can I break contract with my employer before serving full notice and take up another job that’s better paying?

Thing is I have to serve a minimum notice of 3 months but I just can’t since I’m required to start almost immediately, I know they can’t point a gun at my head and force me to work but I’m miserable in my current job and the one I’m getting is life changing.
