I’m homeless and have been for almost 8 months. I have no job history in the last 15 years whatsoever. I did some college classes for Construction Management a couple of years ago and want to pursue entry level project management type jobs. But with nothing at all to put on my resume as far as work history goes, can I just make some stuff up? Not a degree but a couple of jobs. I can learn anything I put my mind to, I’m good at computers, I’m resourceful and good at problem solving. I feel confident that I can do some sort of entry level job without failing or getting overwhelmed. But can I get away with this? Any advice or ideas? I’m in shelter right now with a late April expiration date and currently staring down the barrel of having to move back into my car because nothing available is affordable, not even a junk RV.
I MUST get a M-F daytime hours job with at least $40,000 and some benefits. Please, I have kids and we need a better life than this. Also, I forgot to add that I have been working gig-work and owning my own Etsy business the last 6 months or so but that’s all the income I have now and it’s not that much. Not enough to afford a place to live. I’m in Phoenix. Thank you.
