can i report this still?

hi all! i work in a nonprofit. part of our programming is hosting after school tutoring sessions for students in our work space. a few months ago, the pipes for our toilet (sorry if that’s the incorrect language, i was told “the toilet exploded”) burst and flooded our workspace. we were still tasked with coming in and told it was safe. while there, it flooded again, soaking the area we were currently in and all of my and my coworker’s belongings. it turned out the water was not “safe” and actually sewage water. management told us to just throw away our bags and get to work on moving the items we needed for tutoring to a space next door, as we were still instructed to carry out our session with the kids. for a month or two after, the fire alarm in our bathroom had murky water from the pipes…

for a month or two after, the fire alarm in our bathroom had murky water from the pipes still stuck in it. currently, one area of the workspace is still closed as it hasn’t been cleaned properly.

i was wondering if anyone had any insight on reporting agencies or if i even have a report to make? i spoke to HR (useless) who did nothing of course. is there any recourse here? is it too late? thank you for your help!

edit: so sorry! i forgot to say this took place in California, US.
