Does anyone else cancel shifts when conditions suck?
Long hours, low pay, no expenses for food or drinks or hand warmers when working at front of a freezing cold store.
I was working for a sports brand as a freelance promotional model and the pay is super low. I was asked for my trainers size and was expecting a pair of trainers because I am promoting the brand and the marketing agency who has the contract fobbed me off. They will probably expect the branded jacket they gave me back
I am cancelling the remainder weekend shifts because the working conditions are bad like I had thermals on plus hardwarmers and gloves
Still freezing cold and customers are irritating.
Having to repeat myself, smile often and explainmultiple games because alot of people are foreign with poor english or don't listen is not worth the crap pay.
We also have to tell them to download an app for data collection to get a crappy lace tag when the store WiFi is bad and there is poor mobile network.
I asked the staffing agency I'm working for if I can leave 15 minutes early to catch my train fir the next couple of days and they said no the client is already upset because a girl cancelled on them last minute.
I set off at 6.15am and reached home at 10.30pm (one train was cancelled) and was only paid £150. My travel was £17. It works out i was paid £132 for 16 hours.
Really not worth working. I'm trying to get into operations industry if anyone can help me get into that field I'd be grateful. I will not pay a coach because most life coaches are full of crap.
