I live in Denver and submitted an application to work for the Denver Public Library. I got a response to schedule an interview.
I told them I work a regular job and the interview would have to be after 3:30. The person responding said they'd have to get with the bosses because they likely wouldn't schedule something that late.
OK. I said I might be able to get free in the morning next week (by making an excuse to my current work) because the job seemed good.
Two days later, this response: “Hi Then-Cauliflower2068, Thanks for that information. We appreciate your offer but the team has decided to move forward with other candidates at this time.”
How dejecting. This happened with another job with the city, too. I guess the only applicants they entertain are those that don't already have jobs or those that have open schedules.
Some of us have to work in the real world, and we want to advance, too.
