I work for Carvana, not afraid to put this up atm. We're not as huge as the continuous disaster that is Twitter but I wanted to vent.
Carvana bought out ADESA this year for over $2B. Right after that, they laid off 2500 people, most of them in Market Operations (the people who drive the hauler trucks, my job). The CEO put out a video for everyone to watch that just rang hollow: “oh we're sorry but this will save the business.” Then, last week, they laid off another 1500 people, most of whom were in the software and customer service side of things. My hub is losing an entire logistics division which will make it harder to deliver vehicles without a delay, which will cause more cancelations and angry customer calls.
Just another example of the owner class doing everything they can to line their pockets. Before that first layoff, the CEO's daddy sold off $3.6B in stock. Number goes up, we get screwed.
