“No one should rely on tips as part of a wage” Just quit my job. Just wanted to show everyone this ridiculous comment from my employer. I worked there only 2 months. I saw tips after tips from our customers paying for coffee, all day every day. Pound coins and £2 coins. I didn’t see a penny.

Asked my boss for a role/positional name change to a role I’ve been doing for the past 3 years.

I work in a law firm and my current job title is that of an assistant. For the past 3 years however I've been handling job duties which are more in line with that of a law clerk or even a senior law clerk. All of the lawyers refer to me as their law clerk. As such I decided that I wanted my job title changed, I did not even ask for a raise with this job title change. Today my boss responds saying that they can not change my job title because I did not formally graduate with a Law clerk degree and as such they can't grant me the position. Is this not complete bullshit? We're in 2022 where a vast majority of information/tasks can be learned online and if I have 3 years of experience anyway it should supersede the need for a diploma (other firms don't…

9-5 Work Days Proven to Cause Psychological Damage

World Health Organization and ILO, the International Labour Organization studies have proven that not only do the current 9-5 work days 5 days a week cause harm, but they actually cause productivity to plummet as well. So the ironic thing here is people are being worked so hard that they are getting less work done due to tiredness, fatigue, stress.

This is at my local McDonalds. Don’t assume they are doing good with this offering. This is in California where the minimum wage is already $15. They are still trying to do the bare minimum.

Being a boss makes you coldblooded

Sorry for the small rant I’m just so pissed right now. So last night I started having trouble breathing and couldn’t catch my breath enough to sleep. I decided in the morning that I would just go to the hospital as I wasn’t gonna risk my help. Well I called my boss, who has been a family friend since I was a little kid, didn’t even ask if I was alright and even had to take the time to berate me for something that happened 3 days ago and mind you this is all while I’m laying in a hospital bed on the phone with him. I guess once you get that nice paycheck and the ability to lord over people even someone you once considered family your willing to screw over.

In the interview process and during the second interview, they brought out the “boomers” to try and undervalue me

I hate that term, but basically I’m currently interviewing for management positions at multiple large corporations. I am 28, have a certification in business and 6+ years of similar management experience, physical knowledge in the trade, have worked corporate full time jobs for larger positions and currently manage a business completely on my own. I have two job offers in writing, one is 75k and the other is 85k at separate companies The third company, which i interviewed for yesterday called me back for a second interview after my first interview went well, because they thought I would be more suited to a management role. This time I wasn’t being interviewed by a more youthful HR group, they brought out 2 corporate level directors to interview me directly, and of course they started to tell me that my experience was not good enough for management pay scale, due outlying factors…

You want loyalty as a company? Buy a robot. You want people to stay for an extended period of time? Well then allow them to live.

Keep the market on it's head and in the power of the worker. Fuck all of these greedy corps dragging us down with them.

If they won’t tell you the pay up front or during the first screening, they know the pay is garbage.

I'm an upper level hiring manager, I have been for 20+ years now. We always know what pay for skillsets are. Always. We have tools upon tools upon tools that give us ranges to set. We have budgets, we know what we can pay in a range, ALWAYS. If a company won't tell you during your first initial phone screen or doesn't post it in the listing, don't talk with them. Ever. Hiring managers attend trainings on how to “hook” employees if the salary isn't high enough. Companies will spend money on these trainings and seminars rather than just fucking paying more. Know your worth, if you aren't getting it, move the fuck on.
