I am a software engineer and get lots of recruiter messages advertising various openings. Sometimes they say, “If interested, please reply with your resume and contact information.” I'm thinking, “My LinkedIn profile is exactly what will be on my resume, can you not just download a PDF of it from LinkedIn?”.

Hate work? Automate it!
Hey all, if i'm honest, i'm very lazy. that's why i want to automate as much of my boring stuff as possible and have built this tool to help everyone else do the same. Hope you can use it too to get rid of some of the annoying tasks you do. It's entirely free to use, all i'd ask for is some feedback đ https://www.producthunt.com/posts/bardeen
If youâre so desperate for workersâŚ
âŚyouâd think the boss would show up for an interview. I only got 5 emails over the past three days through the companyâs automated system reminding me about it. I show up and Iâm told that person isnât here, theyâll take my name and phone and get back to me. This is a business that has signage up the wazoo about how theyâre hiring. I felt like my time was completely wasted and it doesnât exactly give me much confidence that this place is managed well. They gave me some excuse about how itâs their âautomated systemâ but if theyâre not going to use it why do they have it? One of the main reasons I applied there was because they tout an easy hiring process.
So my job has been crap lately and so I went looking for a new one and was just hired on at a much higher pay rate at another company. I just dont have it in me to tell my boss I'm done on Friday. I know I have to but I'm just dredging it is all.
My boss was an absolutely amazing boss. I was so happy to work for her these last three years. She had our backs and genuinely cared for us. Last week we were pulled into a conference room to be told “We decided to let M go.” Now the higher up seemed happy. Myself and my coworkers jaws hit the table. I guess they have been after her job for years?! Like get real. I was told they were after my job next…but then I received an email stating what a wonderful job I have been doing? I am so confused. Everyone seems on edge as they're worried about their own jobs. Out of my education career I have never dealt with this and looking over my shoulder, wondering if I will be next.
I'm a senior-level product owner/manager type. When I'm looking for new positions, I rely on really good recruiters who are knowledgeable, can identify the right talent for a role, and can advise me as I go through the application process. I'm old (50). I like where I'm at, but I'm always interested in seeing what's out there. I always make that clear. I got an email from a recruiter stating, “I just had a candidate decline an offer due to personal reasons so the hiring manager is very motivated to interview and hire someone THIS WEEK!” And I'm rolling my eyes. Here's why: I don't care that you had a candidate turn down an offer for personal reasons. Deciding the job isn't for them is “personal reasons”. Deciding the client is cheaper than cheap, or that it's a toxic environment, is a “personal reason”. Now, maybe this is the greatest…
I hate my ungrateful, hypocritical boss
He wants me to work faster and faster, says Iâm too slow, even though Iâm already one of the fastest workers here (and I have proof) He is constantly testing my boundaries- pushing me to do start a task before I clock in( not even legal here lol) saying I need to stay back for another few hours without warning etc. I refuse, but he is always poking and prodding to see what he can get away with. He wants me to âtake ownershipâ and clean up/organise, which is additional work and will take more time. But as I said, he is always saying Iâm too slow and I need to work faster and faster. How the hell can I work faster when he wants me to take on more work????!? The math doesnât add up He literally calls me at 4am to ask me to come in and gets…
