Long story short, I applied for a job, nothing about compensation in the posting ( IT Generalist position ) they respond very quickly wanting to schedule an interview. Great, I ask for the pay band of the position, just so we don’t waste each other’s time, and I get this response “if you would like to provide me with your salary expectations then I can review with the hiring manager and let you know” Does this not grind your gears when your question is answered with a question ? What is the best way to respond without lowballing yourself?

Honestly this annoys me beyond words I like to be busy, I don't like work but if I'm there all day then I'd like to be occupied. But when it's quiet and there's not a lot going on, you're not allowed to sit down or even think of getting a coffee etc. Checking your phone would be the devil's sin. The constant reminders that you're being watched on CCTV mean you have to sweep an already swept floor and count buttons until something comes about. This is the biggest irritant to every job I've ever had lol

I've spent the last 3.5 years working in a specialty food shop at a market. It's the best job I've ever had. I get to walk to work, boss is an angel, great pay, benefits, PTO, the whole shabang. I was just informed that my boss (the owner) is closing the shop at the end of June. Covid killed the business. Even now with everything seemingly back to normal, work from home has seriously reduced foot traffic downtown. Insane inflation on our products has forced us to raise prices on an already premium product. Our sales are half of what they were pre-covid. I'm devastated. So i'm at this new job which was initially a night shift. 7-3 but after a couple days they rescheduled me to 2-12 with bogus reason that this will help me with work life balance. Do they want me to hang out with friends and fam from 8-12am? With this timing i'm basically booked all day. And here's icing on cake. Job itself is basically just data entry. You don't even have to be there. Had a meeting yesterday with murican client and after that they told informed me about rescheduling. Guess i wasn't satisfactory enough for murican guy to enter his numbers in Excel. Fuck I'm mad but can't quit either. Guess gotta suck up for now.

I used to work at a 24hour restaurant 6 days a week doing 10 hour night shifts. They’d even call me on my one day off. Customers were nitpicking and whining about every little thing, usually to try and get a refund and discount or more food. The servers constantly had drama, either with the cooks or each other. The amount of times I would say I was going to look for another job were innumerable. Good morning all! I've got a story about possible truck abandonment even though I've done everything in my power TWICE over to make things as easy as possible to return my truck. I've been a driver with this company for roughly nine months now with very little success and consistency.
