Hello, Everyone! Hope your new year is going well. I know mine is. Recently my employer decided to change the rate of pay overnight, and it’s clearly less. I’ll fill you guys in here.
This past Saturday, the owner decided to have a lunch. At this same lunch she stated starting Monday the rate of pay will be different.
Here’s my thought process. Prior to having to start at this position, there had to be a signing of a contract. The contract includes the rate of pay at which it was originally. I want to leave this part time job as it’s now interfering with my career. My thought is, since the employer changed the rate of pay, that makes the contract no longer valid, so since the contract is no longer valid. I do not have to put in a 30 day notice to leave this mf. 🤣. Yes, The contract also requires 30 day notice to leave the position. Like what.. you didn’t notify employees 30 days in advance that you’re going to pay them less. I actually leaned from this same Reddit that each state has a department of labor. I basically just want to notify them that I quit today and I will be not putting in a 30 day notice. But shove some legal shit in there face if I need to. Any help?
