So I'm working in a small (<50 employees) business in germany for some years and I'm mostly happy with my job. When I was hired, my boss proudly told me, that he removed the sentence with overwork included in the contract and the CEO let it slip. So all worked overtime can be compensated in free-time when there is less to do.
So now, just before christmas (and a good bonus and pay increase for all) there was an announcement, that all contracts of project-leaders will be adapted to have the same passage with included working overtime. The new contracts just came in and now has a passage, that 10% working overtime are paid with salary. Everything more can be compensated with free time.
Most other old colleaques and some newer have similiar (but less strict) or no passages like this in their contract. We are already gathering together to fight against this “adaption”. Altough it is legal, there is no way me or my coworkers will sign that. i don't have a problem with working overtime, but I want it paid or used as free-time.
I just want to get some more input what you guys suggest we should do.
