I (23f) currently have a weekend job at a assisted living facility and have about 7months (how long ive been certified) ive been a cna for 7years going on 8, and this field just isnt what i want anymore.
I got a job at a place i really wanted to go to, a Huge Avaition plant in my town. And its a 5.50 pay bump too đ
Anyways! This whole 7 months ive worked here i have not recieved the proper tools to lean to success, and when ive tried to ask questions, the LPN screamed at me and told me ill never make it in the nursing field, well she got in trouble for all that and it got better for a little. Then the Retired DON(Director of Nursing) that comes to help out, screamed at me in the kitchen in front of a resident that i was grabbing breakfast for because it was after breakfast hours for the kitchen staff but he set my residents aside for me.
Fast forward to yesterday (10/30) she(retired DON) asked me if im working anywhere else if im looking for another job this or that. Now my current DON knows i have accepted this position and that my tenative start date was jan 2nd. Now today (10/31) i was called by my DON who said that the lady i worked with yesterday told her that i was lying and did already start working there and that im being unfair to them. I got mad and said something along the lines of “you and i already had this conversation, and im not about to take this disrespect again, and again, because i was going to give you the benefit of the doubt and still help you while i was in trainjng, and which they jhst reached out and want to start me nov 14th” and then i finished up with “youll be luck if i show up this weekend”
Now. Since im going to be starting this new job, and can actually survive a few weeks without a paycheck, im considering texting and just quitting, and blocking every number. Because i cant handle their disrespect. I am leaving nursing entirely i do not like it. I cant handle the emotional baggage and i realized that and do not want to be part of it any longer.
My brother and boyfriend, both have said to just go ahead and do it. Because of the blatent disrespect.
