Change of Reporting Lines

So, our company was taken over by a group company. We've already seen some of our staff face 'integration' with the Group's departments, and now my team is facing this integration. I don't want to say what my role is, let's just say we are an administrative function. I currently report to the MD of the company. I potentially face being told that I will report to the Group Company's Head of the same function. To me, this will be unworkable (we're at different ends of the country for starters), and reporting to someone external to our company seems weird? I don't know how to see any way of challenging this as being unworkable. We weren't TUPE and I can't see how this can be challenged contractually. We all feel the hard work we've achieved over the years to establish the service will now be wiped away. Not had to…
