She is a delivery driver and it was snowing, boss demanded she deliver on foot when a coworker had died in the previous months doing just that. She pointed this out and begged not to have to do it. Threatened with being fired. She slipped and got a concussion and broke her spine.
My mom compressed her spine giving birth. Just compressed. And I know that she to this day suffers chronic spine issues. Concussions as well are no fucking joke and can leave lasting impact that you may never recover from. I don't even think my client is fully aware of how severely this is going to affect the rest of her life. Shes so young as well… Thankfully shes suing the everloving fuck out of her company. But still, just, holy christ.
Im so fucking scared of the future. Im self employed now but that may not be sustainable forever. Im chronically ill and im poor, and jobs like hers may one day be the only kind of job i can work.
