Commentary on “no one wants to work”

I’m thinking about this whole “no one wants to work” theme from older people or even younger people that have had life handed to them on a silver platter (or not, and just want others to suffer). Perspective from 24F in America. I’ve been working since I was 17yrs old. I had to work my way through college full time, while I was also taking classes full time. I used to have the attitude of “everyone should be like this, there’s no reason to complain.” Trust me, that’s changed. After graduating college, my degree has become essentially useless unless I choose to further my education, thus adding to the debt pile and making really only $10 more an hour if I’m lucky. “Nobody wants to work.” Yeah, you know what? You’re right. We DON’T want to work. A majority of people in my life have been working nonstop for years…

“Nobody wants to work.” Yeah, you know what? You’re right. We DON’T want to work. A majority of people in my life have been working nonstop for years and years in the same fashion mentioned above. We are tired. Our candles are all burnt out. We are running on maybe fumes. And you’re telling me I have to do this for essentially the rest of my life? Our days off are spent recovering from work and dreading going back in.
Since high school, we’ve been told “you probably won’t get social security when you’re older since they’re running out.” What?? And we are supposed to have a drive to work? With inflation the way it is, you have to make 6 figures to live comfortably. With inflation rising… god only knows what’s coming.

TLDR; “no one wants to work.” Yeah, you’re right. We don’t.
