As title says, trying to get any forklift driver without a driving licence to get one.
Apparently there was an accident in another branch where a forklift driver hit a customers car. Not a big crash, just a little tap. So the customers insurance asked if the forklift driver has a licence to drive on the road. Not sure why, I would have thought it irrelevant since we're on private property.
I drive a motorcycle only, in my country its a separate licence, not sure about anywhere else. On a car licence here you are automatically allowed to drive a tractor and this is what the job wants, trying to say we need a licence with tractor on it to do my job as a forklift driver, 3 years after I started.
Sounds a bit fishy to me, the only reason I can think of them doing this is could there be a discount on insurance for the company if their forklift drivers also have full driving licence?
Anyways I just wanted to see what reddit thought of this nonsense
