Company keeping us tethered to computer?

Started a new job recently working remotely from home. The job is actually pretty good so far but they sent us wired headsets with a cord that’s maybe 3 feet long. A few of us in the training class asked if we could purchase wireless headsets on our own and we were told that the wireless headsets would not work with the software or something along those lines. My thought is the company wants us to remain on task and in front of our computer, even though there are long periods of inactivity later in the evening when calls slow down. Does anyone with technical knowledge know if a wireless headset could feasibly cause an issue that a wired one would not? I’m thinking of just ordering my own headset so I have the freedom to get up and move around a bit during the day instead of being completely…
