Honestly I'm livid.
I work an office job, the workload is not much, but I did ask for some projects to work on and stuff because I simply did not want to be bored in the office. Been working 3 years as an “external”, a.k.a. agency employed “we might kick you out anytime with a month's notice teeheehee and we gonna threaten you every 6 months or so”. I would have left this place earlier, but I had issues finding something that's this chill and pays this much and the job and people are bearable, boring, neutral, “it's work” and did not stress me out, so why. I also don't speak the local language very well and don't have a degree (not because I'm dumb, but because circumstances).
I have asked my colleagues to educate me on processes and shit multiple times, but nope, never happened. It was always “we are done educating temps, there will always be another and we can start over” … well fuck me then why am I here. I got pretty knowledgeable on my own, also thanks to our IT department which is basically our second line (I'm between IT and Finance). I never got FULLY educated, never got any projects and this was not because I “fucked up” or because “I was unskilled” and also not because I was a bitch to someone. I pick up things after being shown the first time + I write notes which I can pull up quickly so I'm not a constant bother.
I asked if there's a chance to be hired by the company directly and it was always “we don't have positions for you” blah blah “we'll let you know” which is obviously a NOPE.
Alright, cue Mia (not her real name). Now this bitch is also a temp. She joined the company during my second year working here. We start out as great friends, even went on a hike together. Then she starts telling me about her reiki bullshit and I'm kinda like “uhhh I don't rly believe in this” and that's kinda where our relationship dies (from her side)…..she still told me a lot of stuff, acted friendly, but THE VIBE man, the vibe changed. And I'm not talking about magical reiki bullshit, I'm talking about her mannerism and facial expressions. Anyways she tells me pre much everything, but I get the sense that lately she's hiding something or is avoidant.
Today my TL calls me in like “I just want to inform you that there's some changes in the team, a new position opened up and Mia applied for one and she got the job” …..now OBVIOUSLY Mia was told that there's an opening, I WAS NOT, and NO, I do not scour the company job offers daily and neither does she. This one colleague who “took her under his wing” (but not me FOR WHATEVER REASON) obviously told her about this position, because as he taught her shit she obviously knows more than me about this one particular Software (we manage multiple) she will be more useful.
I fucking bust my ass, keep everything clean, take responsibility, resolve everything, try to learn on my own and this bitch keeps emails piling, mismanages tickets, doesn't know jack shit about overall processes, manages to make the stupidest user errors and when I was on vacay the whole thing was a MESS and SHE gets the fucking job.
So COMMON COURTESY which I shouldn't have even fucking bothered with, I CONGRATULATE HER on her new fucking job and she's just like “oh well it's the same shit” WELL OKAY FUCKING BITCH CONGRATS ON NOT BEING FUCKING EXTERNAL AND NOT GETTING THREATENED TO BE SACKED + HIGHER PAY AND COMPANY BENEFITS. Honestly fuck this fucking company, tomorrow I'm gonna rewrite my CV and send it to million fucking places, I'm done with this backstabbing shit. If I wasn't financially dependent I would quit tomorrow.
But I bet their fucking asses I'm not gonna comply with their “hybrid working” crap, I'm staying home, go die in a fucking ditch, the whole fucking team with Mia on the front.
Edit TLDR: I bust my ass but the temp who barely works here a year gets hired permanently instead of me.
