This story is from several years ago when the rules behind what type of employees could be salary exempt. I was working in a fast food place at the time and the assistant manager fell into this bucket. Basically he worked more than 40 hours every week and now the new laws stated he had to paid overtime. The companies solution to this? they recalculated his pay so he would make the exact same amount of money. He was rightfully pissed and complained about for all of a week until he sucked it up and just kept at the grind. It sucks that companies are legally allowed to do this type of thing.
