So I came in to work for my shift on Monday and found that they had removed the time clocks from the computers in the break room (which is also the employee entrance for the building). Apparently they now require people to clock in and out at their stations. While it seems like there are no protections for making us punch out before walking up to our lunch break, I did find that they have to pay us to get changed into our safety gear, which they are now denying us. There is a caveat to that, but I'm not sure how applicable it is, so I'll be calling up the Department of Labor tomorrow on my day off to see if i can file a complaint. As an electrician in a manufacturing plant I have a fair bit of safety related stuff I have to put on here, so it's ridiculous that they're trying to force us to punch in after.
