My company had our managers send us a confidentiality and non solicitation agreement by the end of today. While most of the stuff seems to be standard non compete clauses I am worried about some of the language included in various sections. For one I'd be in violation of the agreement if I “induce” and employee to leave the company. It also says that I'd be responsible for lawyer fees if I violated the agreement and they decided to sue me. The real kicker is that there is a section that confirms i had the time to read through the agreement and seek advice if council if I sign. Again I got this agreement this morning and they are expecting a return by the end of the day. Not too sure if I'm going to sign this or if I'll have to piss off my manager and not sign it. Would something like this even be negotiable if I got a lawyer? Would getting a lawyer even be worth it?
