So my fiancée works for one of two sister companies who work closely with each other. She works with a team of the other company quite a bit and was offered a job by them about a month ago. She informed her superiors at her company of her decision to leave and was offered a promotion and a raise to stay. She was told this was all fully approved but needed a week or so to be formally updated. Two weeks later they are saying HR did not approve the the raise and promotion. She then went back to the other company and said she would start work with them immediately. They are now only willing to hire her at a lower level because that position was already filled. Is there anything we can do legally against her original company to recoup the loss of salary that they directly caused?
