Hi all,
I am a sales rep operating in a specific field with two highly specialized (one of which unique) master degrees in this area.
We’re hiring a second sales rep who will get the senior title as he is 10 years older and wants to add that to his career milestones, but he has no experience in our industry nor an education in our field. However, he will be working on an equal level alongside me.
My manager also wants me to train him. I know age matters but my company has little regard to education which makes me feel undervalued.
Is it silly to feel weird about this?
