Hey all, company offered floating holiday in lieu of Easter. I worked all Easter weekend to “help out.” I went to request my floating holiday day this week and my boss denied it stating I had to have requested it by March 1st (HR policy, was not aware). Can they do this? I have the holiday time banked in my time off accruals on our time keeping program. I am also upset that my boss didn’t even bother to see if they could make an exception for me considering that I have been working the weekends and EVERY holiday (even a few hours Xmas morning) since my employment started a few years ago.
Interested to hear your thoughts and what recourse if any I can take. Thanks in advance!
