There's been some recent scheduling changes at my job to accommodate one of our managers taking medical leave. One of those changes is myself and another technician being put on alternating 2 weeks of after hours on-call in the event of any emergencies on-site.
Management has told us we'll get 3 hours minimum if we are called in, but has made no mention of compensation for being on-call.
I had agreed initially because it was presented as a temporary situation, but now they're making it sound like they want this to be a permanent rotation. This wasn't in my original contract, and I haven't signed anything.
Is this legal? What can I do about it?
