Confusion at its finest.

I work for a piloting/traffic control company for the oil and gas industry. I had been working 35 min from my house. We drive our own cars to the job site work in them all night 6pm to 6 am. Then go home. My rate was 14.50 plus 12 dollars a day for fuel. Last week I was told to go to a place that was 2 hours and 25 min from my house that’s where I would be working now. I drive an f-150 2015 2.7 v6. I get like 15 miles a gallon. I told them that it was not financially possible. For me to do that 6 days a week. They said what do you mean? Fast forward a few days I see an otr pilot driving job being put out by them looking for workers. I said to my boss hey I’d like to do that!…

I said to my boss hey I’d like to do that! He said alright send me your license (company vehicle).

He then says I’m not eligible to drive a company vehicle. (I have 0 points against my license).

The next day he says I am come in and fill out paper work.

The paper work was dropping my wage from 14.50 to 13.50 hr.

He then tells me that I will be training in the place that 2 hours and 25 min from my house. And then proceeds to tell me that we will be transporting pools but it’s not otr it is local.

So now I’m back to square one. Driving 2 hours and 25 min to work. Working 12 hours and driving 2 hours and 25 min back. And all I got was a pay decrease.

What is your take on this?
