A short story. Boss is scared of his boss. There is a software subscription compliance issue. It has been with him for a month. Vendor escalated over the weekend to his boss. This is corporate, this is not unusual. The boss's boss has been surprised.
“Please explain” has happened. I've provided every piece of communication involved. I hate that I know to create a paper trail. I hate that I know the boss's boss will need somebody to use as a goat. Unfortunately the game is on, and I hate the game.
I hate that I know how to be good at the game.
