I’ll keep the details vague for confidentiality but in a nutshell I have been leading a massively under-resourced and highly political project for over 18 months with little to no support. I advocated for a new role to bring complementary skills to mine; it is at the same level. This role has now been filled.
Finance sends me our collated salary reports for the team and I see that my colleague is getting paid approx $25k more per annum than I am. This is not a gender issue but I am absolutely pissed. When I was appointed I was told that there was a salary freeze and I could only be appointed at a certain level. Now I realise that was total crap.
