When I was 21/22 I transferred to another one of our restaurants locations. GM hated me because I was from the owners first store “the baby store” and worked better than the rest due to being used to high volume.
We had a busser who was great at work and with the customers. One night, after closing, he came up to me when I was getting in my car. He was going on about how I’m a great worker and how he is lonely because his whole family is in another country. He then gives me a hug goodbye and then forces his head to try to kiss me.
The next day I spoke with a shift manager about it and how I was weirded out. She reported it to the GM without me knowing. A couple days later I get pulled aside for a meeting with the District Manager. The GM, Shift Manager and another female coworker were already at the table. They have me explain what happened and apparently the busser cornered the coworker in the female bathroom a few times trying to do this.
He gets fired. The next week is weird, the GM is grumpy towards me so I ask her if she’s alright. She then tells me that if something like that happens I should have just pushed him off and told him it isn’t cool. Me and the other coworker are just crybabies. Now she lost her favorite worker and she has to find a new one but they will never be like him. An AM also told me this. The GM also removed me from the manager training program I had been doing over the past month.
I quit there after a few months and to this day cant believe that the GM of that store went on to be a DM. I have worked for myself for the past 5 years and I couldn’t be happier.
