CPA without kids

I am a 30F CPA without kids who works in a large investment firm. My colleagues are on average 10-15 years older than me and have children. I often feel that they are favored by the bosses in choosing vacation weeks, finishing early in the evening or taking time off for their kid's illnesses or any appointments. I often feel that my excuses are not valid because they are not related to the children. I love my job and I am very well paid but this favoritism for my colleagues with children annoys me. I've already talked to my boss about it and he said that when I have kids I'll understand.
