I put a lot in my work and have developed and built multiple departments for the company I work for. Always with the promise of something better.
I recently asked what I could do to move up in the company, not demanding a promotion but an inquiry. Also to get to at least market value for what I do let alone actually paid for the work I contribute. Was told last week that I was being promoted to a senior level.
Met with boss today to know what that entrails. Small increase in bonus potential and that’s it. Ironically taking the promotion is a zero sum game at this point.
So tonight I sent a long email to my boss that I am declining the “promotion”. Now they get to backtrack to the rest of the company and I get to answer questions as to why I am not being promoted. Should be fun. Time to go on autopilot and look for a new job.
Companies suck.
