I put in a request to take one single day off in early November of this year (six months away…) so I can go to a concert with my fiance. It was promptly denied because two entire months (November and December) are 'blackout' and NO ONE is granted time off. I work in retail full time, I get it, but its not like I'm trying to take a week long vacation in mid December! It's literally ONE day in the first week of November. Ridiculous. I guess I'll be calling in 'sick' that day. 🤷️
Fuck the idea that work is more important than the entire rest of the human experience.
