I asked for. a LinkedIN recommendation from the CTO of the company that I absolutely busted my ass for so much that I had to take 2 years off to recover from since I did some incredible work there. He said he'd be glad to but I ruffled too many feathers when I quit that it'd piss to many people off to leave me a positive review so he couldn't.
Excuse me, but isn't retaining talent the job of the company? I worked two 100 hour week months leading up to my quitting. I was paid significantly less than my previous position yet easily had twice the work and four times the responsibility. I left when my mental health was at risk and because I was massively under compensated yet my pleas for a raise were ignored for over six months. Yet, I'm the one at fault? Yes, it's my fault you had to hire 12 people to replace me. It's my fault you lost millions in lost revenue due to the lapse in development work because you couldn't retain talent. You have every right to be angry at me for acting in my best interest because you couldn't retain me and I left for a job paying almost twice as much. Yeah, that makes sense.
Wel, I'm glad to report that this company is now a penny stock, worth around $100m (was worth $1.2 billion when I left), and is about to be delisted from Nasdaq. I think their management has should take a good, long hard look at themselves.
