Dentist is willfully withholding pay.

I am a dental assistant in the Greater Seattle area, and I worked for a dentist for three days in mid-March. He has still not paid me and his office manager kept ignoring me when I asked about it. Yesterday I decided to text the doctor himself. He responded with insulting me and saying that since I didn’t make it past training, he will only pay me minimum wage, and not until his next payroll cycle, which would be May 1. So I will have been paid three times from my job that I started after him before he can manage to send me my one and only paycheck. He will not respond in anyway about payment. He just keeps sending me more and more insults; like pages of insults.

I have a family I just need to get paid. That’s literally all I care about.

Stressed about this although I know I’ve done nothing wrong, and I will get paid eventually. I’ve just never been in this situation before. Not getting paid is an insult in itself, but the fact that he won’t even talk to me other than to send me pages of insults is stressing me out even more. I am here to get support and to vent, but advice is also welcome. My plan so far is to just try to contact my local labor and industry department and I’ve also looked into an L and I lawyer.
