So I work full time maintenance at a senior community in Florida. The pay is decent but not amazing, and I was told at the interview we don't get paid to do hazardous jobs like drain snaking, working with voltage over 120, etc. Basically jobs that people get paid a LOT more to do. Well we have found ourselves being asked to do these jobs lately and I mentioned to my manager today that the dept head told me during my interview we did not do these things. Today the dept head came in while we were all eating lunch and just started in on me about “miscommunication”, saying he was joking when he said those things during the interview, telling me I was being lazy, and trying to put in a bare minimum effort. I work my ass off at this place, I come in every day and do my job well. I'm so fucking pissed he would not only choose to deal with this in front of all of our coworkers, but accuse me of putting in a minimum effort with how much fucking work I do around here. Just needed to get that off of my chest.
