Had a decent job lined up in a big city. Better pay than my old job. Interviews went well, they wanted my final interview to be in person to tour the place. Had me sign an NDA bc things were on the hush-hush i suppose.
I showed up, no one at the front desk, had to wait 15 mins for someone to grab me after a few phone calls to clarify check-in. They put me in a room and things seemed strange.
No real questions about my experience and how it would relate to this job. I even gave them hard copies of my resume for reference. More personality questions (how would you describe your personality, what personality would you find it frustrating to work with, what’s your favorite animal, etc).
I asked insightful questions about the company and what they do. They gave me very vague answers. They asked when i can start, I said as soon as i find a place (within 3 weeks)(but they’ve known this since i applied that i have to relocate).
No tour, they said they would be in contact with me.
Sad to say no offer. I have to point out that i was most definitely qualified and have worked in the field before (they always require experience which is hard to get being in that field). It was a 6 hr trip, i spent the rest of the day apartment hunting. An entire day and $100 in gas. Even my recruiter was surprised I didnt get it bc she thought my experience in the field would be enough.
So I’m thinking they filled the position already but still had me drive out for diversity reasons.
Note: this is not retail or costumer based job where “personalities” are a big thing, its strictly medical with only colleagues to talk to and work with.
