I made a mistake at work and although I have created a plan on how to improve next time, I still don’t trust myself anymore.
Essentially I went through with something the way I thought it had been done by others in the past, and I did not submit a formal budget. Although now I realize I should have known that, at the time I had no idea because no one told me that I had to do that and I am still very new to this job. They kind of just threw me into a situation where I know a little bit but not everything and in my meeting explaining this project a budget proposal was never mentioned… in fact never in the couple of months I worked there was I told about this.
Anyways, now I have to write an email to fix the situation. And I’m wondering if I should send it to my supervisor before I send it to the third part person. I feel like he wants me to be independent, but at the same time, no one seems to mention things until after I have made a mistake, so I am thinking of sending him what I would like to say in the email before I actually send it out.
It also sucks because it’s Friday and this email needs to be sent out asap.
