I work as a disability support worker in Australia. It’s a team of people working 24/7 with 3 clients. It’s a lot of pressure to do all your shifts no matter what obviously because we can’t leave the clients without the support they need.
Sometimes shit happens though, I’ve been legitimately sick, messaged my team leader the day before and he said I need to message other staff and find my replacement, no one said yes, I had to do my shift feeling like crap.
This doesn’t seem right to me?in any world are employees expected to find shift cover before calling in sick?
