I was hired in January to work at an eye lash extension salon. I am a licensed esthetician and I did eyelash extensions for roughly 6 months in 2018. Obviously I’ve lost most of my skill since then since I abandoned it all together but this beauty salon claimed they would train. I made it clear I needed beginner training as I had forgotten most everything. So I get hired and basically end up teaching myself everything through YouTube and the owner/my boss doesn’t not help me at all. Then for anyone who is familiar with extensions she has me start practicing how to make homemade volume fans, very hard and tedious work. I had never learned to make these by hand before, the previous place I worked used premades. I was told when hired it would be months before I take a hybrid/full volume client (the sets that involve the fans) but I’m now on the books for these services but was never trained by anyone and do not feel confident doing them on a paying client. I was not asked if I was ready, just told my book was open. This is the short version, I’ve had other issues. So my question is do I owe this place a two week notice before I leave after they mislead me and did not do what they initially claimed? I feel I was not trained at all during my time there, completely self taught and struggling.
