Can HR require me to provide newborns birth certificate? We get insurance through spouses employer, months after I come back to work HR wants birth certificate and information that I previously considered to be personal health information(I work in healthcare billing). My mid wife said I don't have to provide any additional information but also that she's not sure if the laws differ state to state.
