I’m struggling to understand my boss. I have supervisors and people in between us but she is the one with the most power. Everyone else is kind enough and I can sense they have personality and are…well, people. They can put the hammer down but at the end of the day I understand their job. But I cannot relate anything to my boss at all.
My boss is the most robotic, unfeeling person I’ve met in my life. Her voice has no inflection. She is straightforward and blunt, if anything else. She’s an administrator, and I see this behavior towards other. The coldness, the disrespect. She is like an automated system more than a human.
I’ve had two lunches with her (not by choice. I will tell her I can’t go the next time this happens) and they were the most soulless, draining experiences of my life.
How do I stop fearing her? I only ever hear from her when I’ve done something wrong, increasing my hatred of her.
When I reach out to explain an issue (for example my company computer has been having issues IT has been trying to sort out for a week, I ended up needing to by given a new one. She was mad I was sluggish with work in this time period when I was sometimes unable to submit any work) she never responds. She’s like an AI programmed to only shit on us when we have made a mistake, like I don’t work extra hours every single day without OT and sometimes without even taking lunch for the day.
I hate the bitch and I’m convinced if anyone else I work with even ANY other higher up I’ve met who has more personality from the brief time we interacted I would be more content with this job.
