Does your employer offer a 401k option, if so do you use it, also how do you feel about 401k’s?

I'm all for complaining about the crappy things employers do, but currently I find myself contemplating about the benefits offered (if indeed you consider them benefits) and whether people here take advantage of them, specifically retirement investing options. I personally have one, a roth 401k specifically) and I have saved just a little over $3k in it this year, which certainly isn't very much, but hopefully next year I will have gotten some compound interest from it. That said, it's also true that a 401k isn't meant to be a true retirement plan and should really be a pension that actually helps you in retirement. If more people had one of those then they wouldn't need to be so concerned with their 401k stock portfolio so it's definitely not a full retirement plan, more like a small piece of it and the biggest piece has largely been done away with.
