As we look at the rising cost of housing, inflation, and a stagnation/decrease in wages, I want to remind everyone that it is not your fault that you were born into this generation.
Do not be hard on yourself for being born at a time when two incomes often don’t bring home enough to support a household, let alone one with kids. Do not be hard on yourself for not being able to afford luxurious vacations. Do not be hard on yourself for not being able to afford healthcare. Do not be hard on yourself for not being able to afford a mortgage.
A generation ago, a single income could afford a middle-class lifestyle, complete with personal vehicle, owned home, and pension plan.
Be upset at our capitalist system and the financial inequities of prior generations that have brought us here, but do not be hard on yourself.
