Don’t fill out exit surveys

If you quit and your company sends you an exit survey don’t waste your time filling it out. The fact that nobody is coming to you personally to talk about your company experience or why you are leaving communicates they don’t care and your opinion doesn’t matter. It’s just a task the stretched thin HR team has been assigned to make the cooperate board feel like they care and are in touch with their employees. I think exit interviews are even a bit of a waste of time. If management doesn’t understand the situation and why you are leaving that is a bad sign. Exit interviews shouldn’t provide any big insights, and if they do… that is a sign of managerial incompetence.
