Don’t give your life away to a job because it isn’t worth it

I recently quit a job I had had for three years. When I started the department I worked it had five people but quickly after I was hired three of those people quit. So it was just myself and one other person running this department. As you can imagine when the pandemic started and all through it, we were both very overworked and underpaid. My mental health continued to get worse and worse over time until I finally had to quit or something bad might have happened. Over the time that I worked there we ask repeatedly for help and said that nobody wanted to work. I recently spoke to the person I worked with and she told me that once I had left they had hired three other people. What I take from that is never ever give a corporation or a job or anything more than your job…

My mental health continued to get worse and worse over time until I finally had to quit or something bad might have happened. Over the time that I worked there we ask repeatedly for help and said that nobody wanted to work. I recently spoke to the person I worked with and she told me that once I had left they had hired three other people. What I take from that is never ever give a corporation or a job or anything more than your job title and that’s it. I was literally doing the job of four people. So my leaving made them realize how much work I was doing and they literally hire 3 people to do the work was doing. I am happy that I am gone from there and my mental health is improving. It was a hard lesson and I do have some bitter feelings and I am in therapy.
