Sorry, this may be long. I had orientation for my new job yesterday. After the orientation I met with my manager to see what day she wanted me to come back to begin training. She introduced me to the head dispatcher and told me I will be training with her and the hours for training will be 8am-4:30pm. Then introduced me to another person and told me that I will be taking over for her because she will be going to an earlier schedule, I then asked her well what schedule would I be working and she said 11am-8pm. This is where the problem is… in the interview I was not told that I would be working 11-8 I was told 8-4:30 m-f and every third Saturday. I would’ve never accepted a position or wasted my time for a position that works 11-8. I have a 9 year old son and after school ends at 6 pm. I told her right then that I was not told during the interview that I would work those hours because if I was then I would’ve never accepted the position. The only thing she said was I’m sorry.. I told her I would try to figure it out and left. I’m pissed because I feel like they wasted my time. I turned down another job offer for this one. Any opinions on what I should do?? The job pays well but the hours will never work for me.
