I work as an Systems admin (IT work) for a company that had no internal IT. I was hired last year to be the onsite IT guy, as they were only contracting someone out at the time. The never told me they planned to let him go and have me take over everything instead of just being supplemental help at the time.
I recently found out, they paid him 10K more a year, and he only came in once a week as opposed to me being there everyday. I have been trying to renegotiate my pay now for 3 months, and they keep putting it off, to eventually tell me there is not enough room in the budget to pay me anymore. I have saved this place over 80k this past year, just from implementing automation and getting rid of waste.
I have two other job interviews lined up this week, and they both start at 20k more than I am making now. The problem is I like my job here, but they are unwilling to pay a fair amount and are gonna be hosed for awhile when I leave.
